VINTAGE ITALIAN CHANDELIER
The master bathroom of Alice Childress and Christopher Daniels's downtown Manhattan loft, designed with the assistance of Courtnay Daniels Haden, carries a vintage Italian chandelier, an antique freestanding marble tub, and an inherited 18th-century painting. The custom-made vanities are outfitted with Caesarstone countertops and Kohler sinks; the sink and bathtub fittings are by Barber Wilsons & Co.
MID-CENTURY CHANDELIER
Thanks to some brother architects, this apartment on Paris's Right Bank has a dark and moody aesthetic that upgrades classic French style for the 21st century. The master bathroom retains a armchair, a 1950s dining table, and also a 1960s chandelier. The market is clad in tiles the walls are of Italian marble, and the floor is tiled with gold-leafed-glass and marble mosaics.
COPPER CHANDELIER
For a San Francisco family, designer Ken Fulk revived a faded 19th-century milestone, changing it into a multifunctional 21st-century house without sacrificing any of its period drama. The marble bathtub in the toilet of the wife is by Urban Archaeology, the wallcovering is hand-painted, and the flooring is by Fox Marble.
UNDERSTATED CEILING LIGHT
Understated lighting appeals to the minimal aesthetic of this bathroom in a contemporary Washington, D.C. house made by Darryl Carter. The dressing table hides drawers for storage.
